Everybody
these days wants an authentic sound, and by ‘authentic’
we mean ‘just like the 50s and 60s’. So it’s just
as well that Seymour Duncan, which introduced its Antiquity range
of pickups back in 1994, is now the number 1 choice of guitarists
worldwide.
Hand-built in Seymour Duncan’s factory under his direct supervision,
the Antiquity 1950s and Antiquity 2 1960s pickups are made using the
same materials and techniques as the originals they’re patterned
after. But hand-winding these puppies is just the start. To more accurately
model the sound of a 35 year-old pickup, dust and grime are imbedded
into the pickup, the covers are aged, the magnets discoloured and
slightly demagnetised, the wiring tempered to simulate thousands of
hours of use… you get the picture. |
