P-Nut II Signature Bass (limited)

In 2005 Warwick presented the P-Nut Signutare Bass, a Streamer Stage II with a 3-layer body with French Walnut top and back and a layer of Purpleheart between the two. The production of this special bass was limited to only a few units. The bassist of the US band 311 was so enthusiastic about his Signature bass – that sold out within a short time , that he was caught by the idea of a second P-Nut Signature bass. Warwick itself also was impressed by the success of the signature bass, so they collaborated with P-Nut to create the P-Nut II Signature bass, which is limited to 56 units worldwide. The basis of this instrument is similar to its predecessor: a five-string Streamer Stage II with a three-layer body, the middle layer made of the purple-shining Purpleheart. For the back and top, however, Muiracatiara (which is also known as "Tigerwood") has been used, available for a short time now in the Warwick Custom Shop. This very dense and durable wood is exclusively growing in South America (Brazil). For the top Muiracatiara with a distinctive grain is being used, which is also found as a veneer on the matched headstock. The "W" consists of pure nacre. Excluding the Tigerstripe Ebony fingerboard, the bass is coated by a Natural Oil finish, thus also emphasizing the neck-thru neck, made of four layers of Wenge and blocked by three layers of Purpleheart, pretty well. The hardware is black, and the low B-string is enhanced with a Hipshopt D-tuner, which – once correctly adjusted – drops the string tuning by a whole step, with just a flip of a lever. Needless to say that again the "Spiral" inlays, personally designed by P-Nut already for his first Signature model, are used as markers for the 24 frets. His signature adorns the truss-rod cover and Hans Peter Wilfer personally puts his signature onto the backside of each bass’ headstock.
