WARWICK BASS BRIDGE TAILPIECE FOR NON TAPER STRINGS

The Warwick 2 piece bridge revolutionised the bass guitar industry. Its solid brass consruction provided unrivalled tonal transmission with amazing string tension & balance. In addition to this it offered various ways of adjusting your action to suit your playing. Almost 20 years later it is still unrivalled.

The original tailpiece (String anchor) on these bridges were designed to fit tapered strings, therefore limiting string choices for bass players unless they physically altered the string diameter or the tailpiece.

Warwick have now made a new tailpiece that will accomodate SOME non tapered B strings. In the past Warwick tailpieces have had a 3.5 m on the B stg and 3.0m gap on the G or C String for the string ball to be placed in. That has now been changed to 4.0m all over from B stg to C stg with the new tailpieces. Its not possible to make the gap any wider as strings will not sit securely and could fall out easily.

The new tailpiece design will accomodate most but not all brands of B strings with with non taper design in gauges .120 & .125 and .130. Very few .135 gauge non taper strings will fit. Of course all gauges of taper strings can be used with no problems.
